Did you know that Lindsey, Joe, Debby and Vanessa invited us to come along for this special event that is going to happen. They asked us a question.
"Who wants to have a music and art centre?".
Everybody raised their hands.
On the 6th of September Rooms 11 and 12 had to discuss ideas about what would be in the G.I's parking space by the community centre. They told us to put some ideas about the new centre that was going to happen.
It was time to grab our papers to put all of our ideas down.
First of all, the group that I was with was Longa, Devonn, Enosi and Alisi. The things that we wanted to do there was mainly for indoor activities like drama class, lino printing and also carving- hard materials. The things that we wanted to do outdoors was basketball, dancing and also chess with big pieces.
It was a surprise to hear that the music and art centre was actually planned as a flower.
The centre is going to will be beautiful like a flower we will also be drinking water from the roof that comes down in a pipe just like stalks of flowers.
We will be getting the sun for this engine that sucks the heat from the outside to come in the music and art centre just like a flower and a bee.
It was a good opportunity for us to take a chance because everybody will be active and trying to get along with each other.
It will be healthy and clean just like a flower.
I am really excited that there will be a G.I music and art centre.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 12 and my teacher is Mrs Barry.

Interesting Geckos
Book Report
Title The tail of the gecko.
Author Marlene Bennetts
Illustrations Peter P
Geckos are really interesting animals because if an enemy grabs its tail in its mouth the tail drops off and the enemy thinks that the gecko, and starts eating it.
Setting. Iran
Problem its enemy was trying to catch it.
Solution the enemy grabs its tail in it mouth and the Gecko pulled a trick on the enemy and it tail just came off just like that.
Opinion I think that Geckos are interesting to read and enjoy searching about it.
Who do you think this book would be suitable for? For me because I like searching about animals and facts.

Earthquake shakedown
Have you ever felt an Earthquake? I haven’t been in an earthquake.
Here are my two reasons why we have an earthquake drill.
Reason:1 It is honestly important.
Reason:2 It can help you in an earthquake
In Glen Innes School, we have been doing important drills. The way we did our drill was, when the bell rings we follow our three important actions.
Drop, Cover and Hold.
My friend Felila was so scared she hurried herself under the table and held on tightly to the legs of the table. I was absolutely confused and the bell went on and on.
The 2nd reason why we do earthquake drills is because if there is an earthquake you will be able to do the drill. Thats why Glen Innes School does earthquake drills.

Sandwich Making
Wow! Did you know that Glen Innes had a healthy lunch for free, because.....
It was a good idea to have a healthy lunch.
Today Mr Naidoo had something nice prepared for us. I was stunned when Mr Naidoo told us that Pak'nSave had sponsored us. It was a delight to hear.
I could see teacher aids dishing out our food. The ingredients that were set out on each of the tables were bread, cheese, lettuces, carrots, cucumber, ham, tuna mixed with apple, lemon juice and if you like you could add a little touch of salt and pepper.
Our Principal Mr. Hendricks said a prayer to bless our food.
We all had two pieces of bread. The ingredients I put in my sandwich first were lettuce, cheese, cucumber, and tuna with apple. It was time to eat our sandwich; I took an enjoyable bite.
The people that I was sitting with were Auariki, Longa, Talia, Autymn, Anna Maria, Chloe and Celia. We were discussing what the name of our healthy sandwiches could be. Auariki's sandwich was called Mr. Vegetables, Longa's one was Mr. Funny face and Anna Maria's one was Mr. Bean. Her one was the funniest one.
I thought in my head that everybody had had a great time creating their own sandwiches.
I can't wait for next week because we are making........
You will have to read my next BLOG to find out.
